In winter semester 2024/25 the new module "From food to nutrients - how the gastrointestinal tract provides what the body needs" (4612-211) starts.
In this module you will learn everything about the structure and function of the gastrointestinal tract of different species, from alpacas to fish, rabbits, dairy calves, horses and pigs, and even birds. What do monogastric animals and ruminants do with carbohydrates? Why do rabbits have a better supply of vitamins than horses? What approaches are there to reduce emissions in cattle farming and what works and why (not)? With the help of practical exercises, we will deepen the dry theory and apply theoretical knowledge in "real life".
